BLACK OUT
Fabric designed to completely block the passage of light. It is used to make curtains to achieve total darkness in a room.
BOUCLÉ/LOOP
Bouclé is a knot-textured fabric made from a looped or crimped yarn. These loops add texture, softness and volume to the fabric. The term comes from the French word “boucler,” which means to curl.
CHENILLE / CHENILLE
It is the name given to both the type of thread and the fabric. Chenille fabric is woven with a shaggy yarn that creates a velvety surface.
IMITATION LEATHER OR VINYL LEATHER
“Fabrics” that resemble skin, made of polyester, PVC or polyurethane fibers. In some cases, a layer of crushed leather is heat-fixed on the back to give more of the impression of leather.
JACQUARD
Fabrics with a woven design, not a print. In their construction they have mixtures of various fibers.
LINEN
Fabric composed of linen or that has the appearance of having been woven from this natural fiber.
SMOOTH
It is called fabrics with a flat surface, a solid color and almost no texture.
CANVAS
High resistance fabric (taffeta type), which can be two foot threads by one weft thread, or two by two.
PLUSH CANVAS
Highly resistant fabric (taffeta type), which when finished weaving is given a frosted or brushed finish that helps create a plush or peach skin effect.
CANVAS WITH FLAMÉ THREADS
Highly resistant fabric (taffeta type), which in its fabric includes threads with variations in density that produce a marbled effect in the fabric.
MICROFIBER
Microfiber fabrics are typically made from synthetic materials such as polyester and nylon. The density of the fibers gives the fabric the ability to withstand a lot of use, making it a great option for homes with children or pets.
CORDUROY
Ribbed fabric with a velvety and soft touch.
SUEDE
Textile product made from microfibers, generally polyester and/or polyamide. Its look and feel is very similar to that of suede. It is very soft, durable and easy to clean.
VELVET
Fabric with a fluffy and soft touch, which is woven with different types of fibers. The threads form “loops” that protrude from one of their faces and are shaved to obtain a hairy surface.
TEXTURE
Fabric with a highly textured surface, which is perceived either by touching or seeing it. It can be woven with threads of different colors and gauges, but they do not draw any specific design.
TWEED
Thick and resistant fabric, with a classic and elegant appearance, characterized by an interlocking pattern that may include designs such as checks or color mixes.
CURTAIN / GAUZE
Very fine, translucent and airy fabric that is used to make curtains.
EASY CLEAN
It is a finish that makes cleaning fabrics easier: first remove excess dirt with a paper towel, then apply water to the stain and press with a dry cloth until it is removed, repeating the process as many times as necessary.
ECOTEX
Name to identify fabrics that have recycled fibers in their composition.
FR
Fire Retardant finishes are chemicals added to textiles and other materials to inhibit, suppress or delay the ignition and spread of fire.
CHEMICAL FREE

MARTINDALE
Laboratory test carried out on fabrics used in decoration to determine their resistance to abrasion or rubbing. The more the cycles, the greater the durability of the textile.
M+
The fabric is suitable for residential and even contract upholstery, because it has 35,000 Martindale cycles or more.
PET FRIENDLY
Textiles that combine durability and comfort for homes with pets. They are generally woven with friction-resistant fibers and are treated with treatments that repel liquids and stains, and are very easy to clean.
CIGARETTE TEST
Fabrics that pass favorably one or more tests that measure the ability to resist cigarette ignition.
LIQUID REPELLENT
Finish that helps repel water-based substances, preventing them from absorbing into the fabric and staining it.
